I'm looking for a lodger for the first time to rent a room in an upstairs flat where I live.

Viewings available online and in person this weekend, 17th, 18th and 19th April.

Room

This is a large bedroom with a double bed, desk, chest of drawers and wardrobe. Furniture could be adjusted as required. Plenty of space for a desk if you work from home with room to spare. Good light from the bay windows with views towards Jesmond vale.

Roughly 14ft by 12ft, and 9ft high ceiling.

Can provide bedding if required.

Shared well equipped kitchen with cooker, air fryer, microwave, washing machine. Shared living room with TV and dining table. Shared bathroom with toilet and shower.

There are two smaller rooms, one I use as a bedroom, the other as a study. I often work from home.

There is a back yard, and space to store a bicycle inside on the back stairs.

Just had new carpets put in.

Would suit someone who is happy to share space, conversation and cleaning of communal areas.

All bills and household cleaning supplies included in the rent.

Rent is £600 pcm.

Less than 5 minutes walk to Heaton Park, which is lovely this time of year. Joins Jesmond Dene. 10 mins to supermarket and other shops at shields road. 2 minutes to Star and Shadow community cinema. Nearby pubs, music and arts venues in Shieldfield, Byker bank and Heaton road.
20 minute walk to the city centre. 10 mins on the bus. Near to Byker, Chillingham road and Jesmond metro stations.
15 minutes to the Tyne river.
Near to both universities.

No pets, smoking or shoes on in the house.

I have recently finished a PhD, and do some work teaching botany and herbal medicine. Currently considering restarting my business teaching foraging courses. I enjoy cooking, live music and long walks. I have lived in lots of different house shares around the UK and abroad. Recently returned to Newcastle.
