🏡 King-size bed in double room in calm, friendly home (live-in owner and cats) 🐾
Hi! I’m offering a comfortable room in my home and looking for someone who’d enjoy a calm, respectful house-share rather than just renting a room.
I’m a live-in owner and non-smoking professional, and I take pride in keeping the house clean, relaxed and friendly—so I’m hoping to find someone like-minded who will treat it as a home too.
🛏️ The room & house
For an initial four-month stay, I can offer a clean and comfortable ground-floor room with a king-size bed and good storage space.
• Cloakroom (sink & toilet) right next to the bedroom
• Access to a larger bathroom (bath & shower) on the second floor
(for the sole use of the lodger unless there is a visitor staying)
• Decent-sized living room
• Shared study
• Shelf space in the fridge, freezer drawer & two shelves in a kitchen cupboard
• Small yard garden with table and bench
• Full use of all communal areas
The house is fully furnished, including kitchenware. There isn’t space to duplicate items like pots, pans or cutlery, but you’re very welcome to use everything with care (although bringing your favourite mug would be good idea).
🐱 The cats (important!)
I share my home with two large, fluffy indoor cats, so this would suit someone who:
• Genuinely loves cats
• Has no allergies
• Isn’t squeamish
• Is happy to muck in with their care when needed
• Will be careful not to let them out of the front door
🏡 About the home & location
This is my own home (council tax band C), in a generally quiet area.
• Good public transport links into the city
• Usually plenty of free on-road parking nearby
Travel note: If you need to get to the university or NNUH daily, it’s quite a long bus journey (requires a change in the city centre), although around 20 minutes by car or bicycle.

I’m looking for someone who is:
• Reliable and communicative
• Clean and tidy
• Happy to take responsibility for shared spaces
(e. g. wiping kitchen surfaces, cleaning the oven if used, vacuuming if you make a mess)

Available from 10th May 2026 until the end of August 2026
(around four and a half months initially, possibly longer tbc)
