I’m looking for a new flatmate to take a bright, good‑sized double room in a well‑maintained flat in Streatham Hill, available from mid/late‑April onwards.
The flat:
The two-bed flat is clean, calm and well looked after. It's on the second floor of a block in a quiet, gated 1930s (think Poirot-esque) development with two shared gardens.
It also has a spacious South‑facing balcony, which is great for morning coffees and sunbathing.
It has:
- A South-facing furnished double bedroom with bed, triple wardrobe, bedside table (and I also have a spare desk if you want it).
- A huge shared living/dining room with two large sofas (one a sofabed), armchair, foldaway dining table and bay window – great for relaxing in the evenings.
- Separate kitchen with washing machine, gas hob and electric oven (no dryer or dishwasher).
- Bathroom with bath and shower.
- Hallway coat/storage cupboard.
- BRAND NEW CARPETS in your room and living room (being installed mid/late April).
- Lift access inside building (plus a few steps up to the front door of the block).
Location:
It’s in a great location, with a bus stop right outside on Streatham High Road. Streatham Hill station is c. 5 mins walk (one stop from Balham/Northern Line), and it's also 5-10 mins on the bus/15 min walk to Streatham station, and 15 mins on the bus to the Victoria Line at Brixton tube.
Streatham Hill itself has an ever‑growing selection of shops, cafés, restaurants and gyms (we even got a Gail’s recently).
Rent & bills:
- Rent: £775 per month
- Bills: approx. £225 per month, including Council Tax, TV licence, broadband, utilities, and a cleaner once every two weeks.
- Deposit: £778.50
About me:
I work full time Mon–Fri in internal/change communications at a law firm, with 2–3 days in the office and the remaining days working from home. I usually work from my desk in the living room on Mon and Fri, plus either Wed or Thurs.
I’m friendly, considerate and tidy, and I really value renting a flat that feels like a real home rather than just somewhere to sleep. I’ve lived here for nearly 8 years with the same flatmate who moved out just recently.
When I'm not working, I enjoy winding down on the sofa in the evenings. I'm currently single, and tend to socialise outside the flat - eating out with friends, visiting friends who are further afield on the occasional weekend, theatre, yoga, etc. My partying days are pretty much behind me, but I will occasionally have a friend over for dinner and some wine.
I also come with a very friendly cat - Bruce (see pics). This black and white chap is a total character who has a reputation around the building for making friends with almost everyone he meets!
About you:
I’m looking for a like‑minded female professional who is
- Clean, tidy and considerate
- Reliable with rent and bills
- Looking for a quiet, friendly, relaxed flatshare (not a party flat) and happy to have a chat over a glass of wine or dinner occasionally, or binge some Netflix, while also being respectful of each other's space and routines
- Cat-friendly - Bruce likes to hang out on your sunny windowsill for his mid-morning naps, and is likely to demand cuddles occasionally :)
Interested?
If this sounds like it could work for you, please send a message with a bit about yourself, your work, and what you’re looking for in a flatshare.
