I have a cosy one-bed lower ground floor flat to rent. It includes a spacious bedroom and a living room with kitchenette, plus work station, and a comfortable sofa with large smart TV. Unusually there is a parking space that you can use at no extra charge.
We have a TV licence and the smart TV has Prime and Netflix, or you can use your own accounts. The wifi is reliable too.
The bathroom has a proper bath with shower.
The flat is not suitable for a young family, or really a couple, although sleepovers and guests are agreed by arrangement - we have a very comfortable inflatable double you can borrow. Clean linens will incur a small extra cost.
We have rented to Master's students, based abroad but studying in London, recently, which worked well. It also works as a pied à terre for professionals working in London, but living in the country - the parking space is particularly handy.
The flat is quiet and private. You share our front door and walk through our hall to reach the flat.
You can use my garden, and washing machine, on request but there is an excellent laundrette with dryer a short walk away for bedlinen when the weather is bad.
The Elizabeth Line at Hanwell is 10 minutes walk too. There's a bus stop opposite, the Piccadilly Line is close, and Heathrow very accessible. EPC energy rating pending.
A former paying guest wrote: I thoroughly enjoyed staying in the flat. The household was warm and welcoming, and located in a safe, clean and peaceful neighborhood. Hanwell has all the amenities one needs and is well connected to Central London via the comfortable and modern Elizabeth Line or Piccadilly Line if needed. My commute was always easy and quick. The neighborhood has plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops - with a Tesco’s conveniently located right across the street from the house. The flat is private, clean and has everything one needs. Most importantly Josephine is kind, helpful and always available and quick to respond. A great stay overall, and would highly recommend. Thank you!
Our recent Master's student guest wrote: I had a wonderful time staying in this flat! It was very clean and cosy, with easy and fast access to the centre thanks to the Elizabeth line. The bedroom is really nice, with a huge comfortable king sized bed. Kitchen is well equipped - air fryer, hot plate, microwave - and the bathroom has a nice bathtub that’s also perfectly set up for showers. Also, there are heaters in every room, important for London! For shopping, a Tesco is right across the street and a Lidl is just a five-minute walk away. There’s also a nice bakery and good coffee nearby. Most importantly, the host, Josephine, was wonderful - warm, welcoming, and very accommodating. I would happily stay here again!
The deposit reflects the cost of buying a new macerator, based on experience. Issues with the macerator behind the toilet are easily avoided! This has only happened once in 15 years of paying guests, so no need to worry.
A percentage of bills is charged extra, depending on whether you are here full time or just in the week. With a discount as there is no gas stove in the basement. Council tax band F.
