Hi, my name is Gia and I live in a gorgeous converted flat in East Dulwich with two other girls. One of them is moving out because she’s buying her own place (we are sad to bid her farewell, but excited for her to go on her next adventure), and we are looking for a female professional to take over her room.
About the flat
The flat is incredibly spacious, light and airy, and is spread across three levels: kitchen and living room on the first level; your (potential) room, bathroom and toilet on the second; and the other two bedrooms are on the third level.
I have lived here for the last 6 years, and I can very proudly say that this feels very much like a home, built bit by bit by every person who has lived here. This doesn’t feel like a rented property at all.
I have a close relationship with the landlord/landlady (built over these years as lead tenant), and they are responsive and even proactive regarding property maintenance and contract renewal.
About the room
The room is very bright and cosy. It’s very peaceful and quiet. The only sound that you hear is the birds lightly chirping in the morning. Being the only room on the level (and at the back of the property) gives you that extra bit of privacy.
About the household
We are all female professionals with different working schedules, meaning that very rarely do we face any overlap in sharing the common areas/facilities. The flatmate leaving works from home, and she has the property for herself most days during working hours, which is very convenient: she regularly works from the kitchen or living room. This is not a “live from your room” household (unless that’s what you want!), We make the best out of the beautifully decorated shared spaces, freely.
There’s a lovely fluffy cat in the home, his name is Maffi, and he’s very well behaved. He stays in my room most of the time (by his own choice 🙂)
We are not a party house, but we enjoy hosting for the people that we love (probably we host once a month for a couple of friends, and we always give each other a heads-up before we do it)
About the area
Dulwich is a dream: it’s obvious why this is one of the most sought-after neighbourhoods in London. The independent shops and cafes/restaurants, a beautiful big park, the safety and sheer beauty of the area, and the great connection with central London. Dulwich has a vibe of its own. The flat is on Lordship Lane itself, with all the independent shops and cafes within a 5-minute walk, Dulwich Village within 10 minutes' walk, and Dulwich Park just 8 minutes' walking distance. There are several supermarkets within walking distance: Sainsbury’s, Coop, M&S, and Tesco. There’s a bus stop right off the doorstep, with direct routes to Waterloo, Elephant and Castle, Farringdon and Victoria. East Dulwich train station is a mere 15-minute walk from the flat and has straight connection to London Bridge.
About you
We are looking for a female professional who wants to share a home with us and look after the space and energy that we have so carefully curated over the years. If you are tidy, accountable, responsible, considerate and care about others, let’s have a chat!
