We are looking for a replacement flatmate to join our lovely home in Islington. The flat stretches across two floors (second and third floor) of an iconic Victorian building overlooking a leafy park in the heart of Barnsbury, Islington, zone 1.
LOCATION:
5 mins walk to excellent pubs, restaurants, street food markets and vintage markets in Camden Passage in Angel
5 mins to Buses on Upper Street
12 mins walk to Angel Tube Station
12 mins walk to Highbury & Islington Overground and Tube Station
20 mins walk to Kings Cross
Supermarkets are really nearby. We're also very close to a good selection of parks, and the lovely quiet square in front of our flat basically functions as our garden.
THE FLAT
The flat is spacious and has homely feel to it. Your room is on the top floor with another bedroom and the bathroom. You will be sharing a bright and spacious living room and kitchen which have high ceilings and overlook the square.
FLATMATES
You will be sharing with Hal and Aoife. They are both in early/ mid 30s and working professionals, working from the office mostly, with two days working from home. Both are super friendly and sociable flatmates that enjoy the occasional movie night, pub trip or dinner party. Hal has lived in the flat for 4 years and Aoife has been in the flat for almost 2.
THE VIBE
We get along well and the vibes are really good in the house. The house is calm and easy going and we’re respectful of the space and each other.
Hal has a gorgeous, chilled out dog called Chewy, who lives in the house part time (every other weekend and on Wednesdays), so you need to be comfortable around dogs.
YOUR VIBE
We’re looking for someone friendly and chilled to join the house. It’s also really important that you’re clean and respectful of shared spaces.
Our preference would be for a woman or non-binary person, and someone who works regular hours, working mainly out of the home.
This is a queer and queer friendly household. If you’re a TERF or someone who doesn’t support a free Palestine, we won’t live happily together, so please don’t apply.
HOW MUCH IS THIS?
The costs are:
Rent for the room - £783
Bills (internet & tv license & council tax incl) - £195 per person
Cleaner - £25 each every 6 weeks (the cleaner comes bi-weekly and we take turns to pay)
+ deposit of £768.34 as the house is being rented through an agency.
THE CONTRACT
The tenancy begins on 30 May and we’d need you to be able to sign on from then.
THE ROOM:
The room is a big attic room with sloped ceilings. The bed is included but otherwise unfurnished. Chest of drawers and cabinet can be negotiated.
