Wanted: fabulous people in a fabulous house!

To save us both a lotta time, I have a few Qs for you, see below.

The reason I'm writing these here is so that if you know that I am seriously looking for a place to live. More than that, this year I am looking for a place to call home :)

Soooo, if you'd like to get in touch, please do so with your approach to answering the following:

- are you the landlord, and if not, who would I be paying the rent and bills to per month?

- do you have contractual agreements set up for new tenants? Both with the landlord and with yourself/other tenants you live with (ie the things you want from a house/flat share situation - think, what brings you joy and makes you feel safe, calm and settled?)

- would you be open to a trial period with a view to extend the contract if we decide things are flowing nicely?

- how long are you intending to stay in the space?

- if you live in a flat, what level is the flat on (what is the building like that the flat is in?) Ie ground floor, first floor, second floor...?

- is there green space nearby? (I'm from Exeter and a keen grower myself, mainly of veg, so wherever I end up I'd quite like to either grow veg in the garden if there is one, or get an allotment if not)

- are you open to sharing the occasional meal together?

I understand that everyone has busy lives, and I'm also looking to really stay put and unpack. I have a focus for 2026 - writing a book - and work currently one day a week in Exeter.

I'm balancing healthcare needs at the moment, and as such am on Universal Credit. I have another employer in Exeter too right now (who is desperately trying to sell his business!), and while I know I am highly employable, due to health needs I have decided that this year I will be working a maximum of 2 days a week so that I can focus on my recovery from burnout.

Burnout was initially from setting up and running a mental health charity for young people. While I'm happy to discuss that, I am no longer running the charity and am grieving the loss of that, while also taking steps to firmly close that door/chapter of life in order to open new ones... :D (which feels super exciting!)

I do not have any pets, but I do have ageing relatives who I will always prioritise travel to support: in Exeter & Wales primarily (the rest are scattered around the globe. Those lot cost a significant chunk to visit however, and after June 2026 I do not have further plans to travel beyond the mainland of the UK).

I play guitar and sing as a form of relaxation and processing my inner world. While I am always up for playing music with others, I generally only start singing when I feel comfortable and safe with people. (I have, however, taught singing, performed on stage and busked over the course of my life so far!).

Safety is my priority right now, and a stable base. Therefore I'm intending to find a home for the rest of 2026.
